Hampshire, Portsmouth, and Southampton
As it has not always been possible to allocate whole numbers of constituencies to individual counties, we have grouped some local authority areas into sub-regions. This approach was based both on trying to respect county boundaries wherever possible and achieving, where we could, obvious practical groupings such as those dictated by the geography of the area.
The number of constituencies allocated to each sub-region is determined by the electorate of the combined local authorities.
The number of constituencies proposed for the sub-region of Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton is 17, a reduction of one on the current allocation.
